Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how QuranGoal handles information when you use the QuranGoal mobile application and related services. It is written to describe the current app functionality and data flows.

1. Information we handle

Account information

If you create or use an account, QuranGoal may process your account identifier, username, email address, display name or profile photo supplied by your sign-in provider, language preference, email-verification status, sign-in provider information and account creation information.

Google Sign-In data

If you choose Google Sign-In, QuranGoal receives the basic account information made available for authentication, such as your Google-linked email address, name/display information and profile photo when available. We use this information to authenticate you, identify your QuranGoal account and provide account features. We do not sell Google user data, use it for targeted advertising, or use it to train AI models.

Quran activity and cloud sync

Signed-in users may have supported Quran activity synchronized to their account. This can include saved Ayahs/bookmarks and AI Recitation progress information. Recitation progress may include session dates and times, practice duration, Quran pages covered, number of Ayahs recited, evaluated and correct word counts, mistake counts and calculated accuracy.

Recitation mistake history

Detailed AI Recitation mistake history is stored locally on your device rather than synchronized to the cloud. It can include session timestamps, Surah and Ayah references, word position, mistake type, the expected word, recognized word and related feedback status.

Microphone and AI Recitation audio

When you start AI Recitation, QuranGoal accesses your microphone and sends live audio to the QuranGoal recitation service so the audio can be transcribed and compared with Quran text to provide recitation feedback. QuranGoal does not access the microphone for AI Recitation unless you start that feature and grant microphone permission.

In normal production operation, live recitation audio is processed using temporary/rolling audio buffers and is not intentionally retained as a permanent recording after the processing session. QuranGoal does not use your recitation audio for advertising or to train AI models.

Location and prayer times

If you choose “current location” for prayer-time features, QuranGoal may access your device’s location coordinates. Those coordinates are used to determine your prayer-time location and may be sent to AlAdhan to calculate prayer times. If you search for a place manually, the place-search text is sent to Open-Meteo’s geocoding service. Location-related preferences may also be stored on your device. You can use manual place selection instead of current-location access.

Notifications and alarms

If you enable prayer alerts, QuranGoal uses device notification and alarm capabilities to schedule the alerts you request. Your notification preferences are stored on your device.

Premium subscriptions and purchase verification

Google Play handles payment processing for Android subscriptions. QuranGoal may receive and process subscription product identifiers, purchase tokens, subscription status and expiry information, and a QuranGoal-generated installation identifier used to manage Premium access. Purchase information may be sent to the QuranGoal backend and Google Play services for verification. QuranGoal does not directly receive your full payment-card details from Google Play.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide and maintain QuranGoal, authenticate accounts, synchronize supported data, provide AI Recitation feedback, calculate and display prayer times, deliver user-requested prayer alerts, provide Premium entitlements, verify purchases, prevent abuse or fraud, troubleshoot service issues and respond to support requests.

3. Service providers and data sharing

QuranGoal uses service providers where needed to operate app functionality. These include Google services for account authentication and secure cloud data storage, Google Sign-In, Google Play Billing and subscription verification, AlAdhan for prayer-time calculations, and Open-Meteo for manual place search. Information is shared with these providers only as needed for the relevant feature or service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share Google user data for targeted advertising, interest-based advertising, data-broker activities, credit decisions or AI model training.

4. Storage and retention

Local preferences and locally stored history remain on your device until they are removed by the app, cleared by you, deleted as part of account-related cleanup where applicable, or removed when app storage is cleared or the app is uninstalled.

Cloud-synchronized account data is generally retained while your account is active. If you delete your QuranGoal account, account-associated profile and synchronized app data are scheduled for deletion as part of the deletion process. Certain transaction, purchase or subscription-verification records may be retained where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, transaction verification, accounting or legal obligations.

5. Account deletion

QuranGoal provides an in-app account deletion path. You can also request deletion through our Delete Account page if you no longer have access to the app.

Deleting your QuranGoal account does not itself cancel a Google Play subscription. Subscription cancellation is managed through Google Play. Information that must be retained for legitimate security, fraud-prevention, transaction or legal reasons may be kept only for those purposes.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect data. Production server communications are designed to use secure HTTPS/WSS transport, while local development environments may use localhost connections. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Your choices

• You can use QuranGoal without granting location access and choose a place manually for prayer times.
• You can decline microphone access, but AI Recitation requires microphone access to function.
• You can disable prayer notifications or alarms.
• You can request account deletion in the app or through the web deletion page.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as QuranGoal changes. When changes are material, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
